City College Educators Endorse Connie Chan for District 1 Supervisor

AFT Local 2121, the union representing educators at City College of San Francisco, today announced their endorsement of Connie Chan for District 1 Supervisor.

“We know Connie Chan and we know that she is the best choice to represent the Richmond District and our entire city,” said James Tracy, City College educator and Political Director, AFT Local 2121. “A debt free college education shouldn’t be a dream for students – and in San Francisco, it isn’t. We can count on Connie to stand up for students, teachers and all the staff here at CCSF and make sure we continue our mission for San Francisco.”

“I’m thrilled to receive the endorsement of AFT Local 2121. During my time at City College, I saw firsthand how dedicated they are to providing a quality college education to everyone in our city. And I know that dedication has made a difference in countless lives – including my mom who was able to take English classes and computer training as a newly arrived immigrant to our city,” said Connie Chan. “I’m committed to making sure City College has the funding and resources they need to continue to provide a top notch education – for free – to every San Franciscan.” AFT Local 2121 is a professional faculty union representing 1400 educators at City College campuses in San Francisco. They join a number of prominent local elected officials and community leaders in endorsing Chan’s campaign, including U.S. Senator Kamala Harris, current Supervisors Sandra Fewer, Aaron Peskin and Gordon Mar, and former Supervisor and Chair of the San Francisco Democratic Party David Campos.
