After graduating from Galileo High School, Connie earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of California – Davis, and then went to work <strong>giving back to the community that had done so much for her family. </strong>Connie started her career as a volunteer Chinese interpreter, working with pro bono attorneys for the SF Bar Association's Volunteer Legal Outreach, and as a community organizer for <strong>SF SAFE</strong> and the <strong>Community Youth Center.</strong></span><br></p>

<h4><strong>Now, Connie represents District 1 on the Board of Supervisors, which includes the Inner Richmond, Central Richmond, Outer Richmond, Lone Mountain, Golden Gate Park, Lincoln Park, University of San Francisco, Sea Cliff, and Presidio Terrace neighborhoods.</strong></h4><p><span style="color: var(--color-text-accent-secondary); text-decoration-color: var(--color-text-accent-secondary)">First elected in 2020, Connie has served as the Chair of the Board of Supervisors Budget Committee since February 2023, and also serves as a member of the San Francisco County Transportation Authority, the San Francisco Local Agency Formation Commission, and the Free City College Oversight Committee.</span></p><p><span style="color: var(--color-text-accent-secondary); text-decoration-color: var(--color-text-accent-secondary)">As Supervisor, recognizing the looming threat of federal cuts, <strong>Connie proactively created a $400 million revenue risk reserve fund in the 2025-2026 budget to ensure funding would be available for healthcare, food security, housing, and other services at risk of being cut.</strong> And in the face of attacks against our immigrant community, Connie introduced a supplemental budget to provide additional aid to immigration defense collaborative, to provide legal services, support and education.</span><br></p>

Connie Chan firmly opposes Trump’s destruction of programs that supported vulnerable children and families overseas and their foolish trade war that has hurt our relationships and raised prices for consumers.&nbsp;</strong></span><strong><br></strong></p><p><span style="color: var(--color-text); text-decoration-color: var(--color-text);"><strong style="color: var(--color-text); text-decoration-color: var(--color-text);">Connie is firmly committed to a foreign policy that prioritizes peaceful solutions and supports democratic ideals and human rights. She will push to de-prioritize the use of military force and work for fair trade that uplifts workers and protects the global environment.
