When Donald Trump cut healthcare and food security programs, Connie used her position as Budget Chair to restore them. She's stood up to Trump, to billionaires, and to the special interests that rig the system and drain our tax dollars.As a working mom and partner of a firefighter, she understands what working families need. She’ll push to lower the cost of living, get ICE out of our communities, and pass Medicare for All so we can make health care accessible for everyone. And she’ll fight back against Donald Trump.Connie is endorsed by major labor organizations, the Working Families Party, teachers, nurses, fire fighters, the San Francisco Women’s Political Committee, Harvey Milk LGBTQ Democratic Club, and the Rose Pak Asian American Club. While learning a new language and a new culture, the family was able to obtain a rent-controlled apartment in Chinatown.</h3>Connie’s mother developed the skills she needed for a new career as a claims processor at Chinese Hospital, thanks to classes available at City College of San Francisco. After graduating from Galileo High School, Connie earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of California – Davis, and then went to work giving back to the community that had done so much for her family. Connie started her career as a volunteer Chinese interpreter, working with pro bono attorneys for the SF Bar Association's Volunteer Legal Outreach, and as a community organizer for SF SAFE and the Community Youth Center.

<h3>Now, Connie represents District 1 on the Board of Supervisors, which includes the Inner Richmond, Central Richmond, Outer Richmond, Lone Mountain, Golden Gate Park, Lincoln Park, University of San Francisco, Sea Cliff, and Presidio Terrace neighborhoods.</h3>First elected in 2020, Connie has served as the Chair of the Board of Supervisors Budget Committee since February 2023, and also serves as a member of the San Francisco County Transportation Authority, the San Francisco Local Agency Formation Commission, and the Free City College Oversight Committee.As Supervisor, recognizing the looming threat of federal cuts, Connie proactively created a $400 million revenue risk reserve fund in the 2025-2026 budget to ensure funding would be available for healthcare, food security, housing, and other services at risk of being cut. And in the face of attacks against our immigrant community, Connie introduced a supplemental budget to provide additional aid to immigration defense collaborative, to provide legal services, support and education.

San Francisco is a city that was built by immigrants. No city in the nation understands more the importance of standing up for our immigrant communities and all those who have been targeted by Donald Trump. As a first generation immigrant, Connie feels this deeply and supports creating a pathway to citizenship, protecting and reaffirming birthright citizenship, and protecting San Francisco as a sanctuary city. Connie will stand up to the Trump Administration and demand an end to the raids that terrorize our immigrant communities, violate due process, and undermine our rights. She will call for full accountability of any administration official who has violated the law and the due process of our residents. And she’ll push for comprehensive immigration reform, humane border security, and an end to the inhuman abuses and discriminatory practices of ICE and CBP.
